One number that combines your exam-weighted accuracy, how much of the bank you're retaining over time, and how much you've covered. It's tuned to the same 70% bar the real exam uses. It's a coaching signal, not a guarantee.
The app schedules every question you answer using spaced repetition — misses come back within minutes, and questions you keep getting right come back at growing intervals (that's how they stick). "Due Review" is today's queue; Practice mode serves those first.
Yes. After your first visit, the whole study engine — every question, every mode, the Code Book, your review schedule, the Locker — works with no signal at all. Basement, crawlspace, dead zone: doesn't matter. Only the leaderboard, cross-device sync, and The Examiner chat need a connection, and they catch up on their own when you're back in coverage. On your phone, use "Add to Home Screen" and it installs like an app.
On a computer: press 1–4 (or A–D) to answer, then Enter for the next question. A whole session without touching the mouse.
The Code Book, turned into a map. Each district of 248 CMR — the Drainlands (10.15), the Vent Spires (10.16), the Gas Quarter (4.00–7.00), the Gatehouse (licensing) — is a territory with its own rank. Tap one to battle it: a session drawn only from questions citing that part of the code. The 📖 on each card opens that district in the Code Book.

Ranks measure three things at once: how much of the district you've faced, how often you're right, and — for the Crown — how much you still hold weeks later (21+ day review intervals). You can't rank up by grinding one easy question, racing through once, or cramming. Rank-ups pay XP. Crown all eleven and you're the Code Lord.
One tap, every few sessions, so we know which modes are actually fun and which need work. It steers what we build next. Skip it freely — it won't nag twice in a day.
Open the app — at the gate, type the code instead of an email. It'll ask which email to attach your seat to, and that's it: full access, no card, nothing to cancel. The same email signs you in on any device. Codes are single-use and time-boxed; when yours runs out, ask your program about another or grab the regular subscription.

The answer to "what should I do right now?" — up to three tasks pulled from what the app already knows about you: reviews the scheduler has queued for today, the category you're weakest in that the exam actually weights heavily, questions you've never seen, a timed rehearsal when you're ready for one, and a nudge to log your hours when they've gone stale. Tap the button and it launches exactly that session.
By doing them, not by tapping a checkbox. A task clears when you finish the session it launched — or, for reviews, when the number due actually hits zero. The 🔥 streak counts days you answered questions, not days you opened the app. Miss a whole day and it resets.
The paperwork half of getting licensed, on the Locker tab. It lists every form the Board wants, who has to sign it, and why — the Education Verification Form, the Statement of Experience, the notarized CORI form, the lot — plus what each step costs. Tick items off as you go.
Because nobody else does. 248 CMR 11.02 requires 6,800 clock hours of qualifying work experience (8,000 if you were licensed as an apprentice before September 1, 2008) and 550 clock hours of schooling. The Board keeps no running total — years later, your master plumber signs a Statement of Experience attesting to it. Log a week at a time here and export a clean CSV to hand them, instead of reconstructing four years from memory.
No — deliberately. Your CORI form carries your Social Security number and your photo ID carries a licence number. Under Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.02 that's protected personal information, and the safest place for it is your own storage, not ours. The Locker tracks whether each document is done; it never holds the document itself, and it will refuse to save an SSN or account number typed into a note. Keep the actual files in your own encrypted storage or the Board's eLIPSE portal.
Anything 248 CMR — "what size trap does a kitchen sink need?", "explain wet vents." Answers come from the app's code material and cite sections you can tap to open the Code Book. Tap 🎙️ to talk instead of type, and switch to Mock Oral Exam to be grilled one question at a time — out loud.
It's grounded in our study material and told to cite or say "I'm not certain" — but it's a study aid, not an authoritative interpretation of 248 CMR. For real-world work, consult the official code and your local inspector.

The MA Journeyman exam is administered by PSI in two parts: Part I is 70 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes, Part II is 30 questions in 120 minutes. (Master is 60 questions in 120 minutes, then 30 in 120.) It's based on 248 CMR and passes at 70%. Retention is what carries you through it — exactly what our spaced-repetition training builds. Our Exam Sim mirrors the format, timing, and category mix as closely as we can.
